Amazon Web Services Launches Training Program for Alexa Skill Builders

Amazon Web Services plans to launch a certification program that will give developers building skills for its Echo digital assistants a way to verify their abilities. Specialty certification will be awarded to developers who pass an exam testing their ability to design, build and maintain voice-activated applications designed to work with the Echo devices. AWS offers training programs and certifications for many different areas of cloud computing expertise but said this is the first certification program directly related to Alexa.

A top official from Amazon Web Services said using cloud platforms and coordinating information technology vendors could help local and state governments cut costs in managing data, address gaps between agencies and improve access to information, particularly for health and social services.
